Above: 1955 clipping of The Flamingos from Cleveland Call And Post newspaper. The "Sunday Kind Of Love" title is incorrect. They possibly meant "Dream Of A Lifetime" released on Parrot 808 in August 1954. Or maybe their most famous hit, "Golden Teardrops." "Get With It," backed with "I Really Don't Want To Know," came out on Parrot 811 in December 1954.
Above: Label image of Checker 815 recorded on March 21, 1955 and released in April 1955. This was The Flamingos' first release on the Checker label, a subsidiary of Chess in Chicago. Nine months and two releases later, they would score their big hit for Checker "I'll Be Home."Listen to this week's selections by The Flamingos on Checker 815 from 1955:
