George Moonoogian (shown in the above photo) had a very large collection of 78-rpm records. Not seen here are more shelves of 78-rpm records lining the left wall. Included were many rare records. After George's death, his collection was sold and, therefore, is no longer available to the public.
However, many of his rarest records can still be heard via the G.M. Hooker Radio Shows. Sixty-five of these shows are available on this webpage in Windows Media Player format.
The original concept was to "recreate" the 1940's-50's R&B radio show, while providing information, where possible. Sort of continuous "articles" presented by a "period-personality" disk jockey.
The shows were produced and hosted by G.M. Hooker (aka George Moonoogian), mostly at WJZ, in Haverhill, MA.
The G.M. Hooker Show was "simulcast" on WJZ and The Vocal Group Harmony Website bi-weekly from May 26, 2001 through July 19, 2003.
All of the shows are available for Windows Media Player (at this webpage) and for RealAudio Player (click on link to open in a separate webpage). The shows can be streamed or downloaded (for later listening). To download, right-click on "DOWNLOAD" and select "Save target (link) as..." to save in your designated file folder.
This webpage has been fully backed up by the Internet Archive "Way Back Machine" to provide permanent availability.
