(The intent of this series is to elicit your responses. Who is the group in the photo?
Who is the group on the record? Are they one and the same?)
"Every Time The Phone Rings"/
"Wait'll I Get My Sunshine In The Moonlight"
by Bob Hayward With The Melotones
on Black & White 852
released in 1947
Above: Photo of The MelloTones. Autograph on photo is "...Margaret Sims & MelloTones". George Moonoogian is aware of a Mel-O-Tones from 1941-42 era who were Ethel Harper, Leona Hemingway and Mattie Washington. There is no evidence that Margaret was involved with them. Ethel and Leona left by 1943 to form The Ginger Snaps with Ruth Christian and Charles Ford!Does anyone have any information about the group in this photo? If so, please send an e-mail to me.
