Above Left: Label image of Aladdin 3220 recorded on 12/18/53 and released in December 1953. The Billboard dated 1/30/54 gave this side a "good" rating of 73 stating that "rhythmic blues is read persuasively by Brown and the group." No viable information about The Song Stylists has been found. The Billboard has some references to a mixed male-female group in the 1940's, but this is probably unrelated.Charles Brown had thirty-four releases on the Aladdin label (1948-56) under his own name. A few of these had Johnny Moore's group backing him (1953-54). Johnny Moore's Three Blazers also had releases on the Exclusive (1945-49), Modern Music (1946-47, 1949-53) and RCA Victor (1949) labels.
Above Right: Clipping from The Billboard dated 1/2/54.
