Above: Label images of Excelsior OR-180A/B released in July 1946. It was the Al "Stomp" Russell Trio's fourth of four releases on Excelsior (1946). In addition, they backed Timmie Rogers on two records (one side each) as their initial efforts for Excelsior (1945). They also had releases on Coast (1945), 20th Century (1946-47), Sapphire (1947), Apollo (1947), and DeLuxe (1947).In 1947, William "Doc Basso" Joseph left the group and was replaced by Joe Davis (bass fiddle). They then changed their name to Do Ray And Me (and seemingly countless variations of this name thereafter).
