The Ivorytones were a formation of Atlantic's ubiquitous "house" vocal group, generally known as The Cues.From The Billboard 12/18/54: "JOE HUNTER SIGNS ATLANTIC PACT.... Atlantic Records has signed Ivory Joe Hunter, for the past three years with the M-G-M label. Hunter a few years ago was one of the hottest warblers in the r&b field. His "I Almost Lost My Mind" and "I Need You So" were big hits for M-G-M.
