Above Left: Recorded 6/5/39. This was from The Four Clefs' first recording session and was their fourth release. The group consisted of William Chapman (lead singer, drums, vibraphone), James Marshall (backing vocal, piano), Johnny Green (backing vocal, guitar), and Melvin Chapman (backing vocal, bass fiddle).

Above Right: Recorded 7/22/41. Their fifteenth release. The flip side is "Until I Return", a going to war song, recorded at the same session. Both sides may be heard below.

The Four Clefs were from Chicago. They had about twenty releases on Bluebird and a few more after that on the main RCA Victor label.
