Joe Marchesani co-founded and co-hosted the “Time Capsule Show” in the 60s and 70s -- first in New York City and then also in Philadelphia. In the early 2000s, with encouragement from Jim and Nikki of the HARMONY HAVEN website, Joe reviewed hundreds of old Time Capsule programs that he had kept, or that listeners had sent him, and picked some of the best. He also wrote an essay documenting the history of the program. This led to a “Time Capsule Show” section at Harmony Haven. Joe also did five new programs on that website from 2007 to 2011.

“Time Capsule Discoveries” continues the theme of Joe’s last five TCS shows. He plays high-quality, rhythm n’ blues and rock n’ roll, vocal group harmony sounds from the late 40s to the early 60s that he would have played on the original “Time Capsule Show” if he had known about them. Many of these are unreleased songs from the archives of various record companies that came out after the TCS went off the air. However, many were actually issued during the heyday of vocal group harmony, but Joe never heard about them.
