There have been over 565 "Record of the Week" presentations at this website. Many of these have included multiple records. It's time for an infusion of new blood! If you'd like to provide your own selection ...
THE BASIC RULES:
YOUR SELECTION ...
1. MUST contain at least some vocal group harmony
2. MUST be pre-1955 AND 78-rpm format
3. MUST be rhythm & blues or pop-blues
4. SHOULD be an uncommon recordYOU NEED TO PROVIDE ...
1. Good color scan of the artist(s): 300dpi ; "bmp" format preferred, but good quality "jpg" is ok
[NOTE: If you don't have a good picture of the artist(s), check with me... I might have, or be able to obtain, one]
2. Good color scan of the label: 300dpi ; "bmp" format preferred, but good quality "jpg" is ok
3. WAV file(s) of one or both sides from the original 78-rpm record. 44,100 sample rate, 16-bit including lead-in and lead-out grooves and without any noise reductionContact me via e-mail with your idea. Please don't proceed without my go ahead first. If you can't abide with any of the above listed rules, tell me in advance. If your proposal is accepted, your name will be credited on the web page (your option).
