Above: Newspaper clipping from October 29, 1949: TOPS IN HARMONY. -- Crossing paths at the Liverpool Airport in England were the sensational Deep River Boys who have taken the Empire by storm on their personal appearance tour, and the Smith Brothers, singing stars of the British Broadcasting Corporation. The two popular singing groups, compared notes at the airport and then departed on their separate ways to seek new triumph on their current tours.
