Above: "Can Anyone Explain" clipping from July 1950. Irving Berman was the owner of Manor and Arco records. Manor, which had its first release in January 1945, changed its name to Arco in late 1949.

Billboard Clipping (July 1950): Irving Berman has a winner in the Savannah Churchill recording of Laurel Music's new tune, "Can Anyone Explain." Berman, Manor-Arco record chief, and personal manager of Miss Churchill, has picked up the option on his managerial deal for another two years.

Part One of this "Spotlight" featured The Striders' first record (Capitol Label - 1948). Part Two featured them backing up Bette McLaurin (Derby Label - 1952).
